Grip socks fit fantastic. They provide more comfort. In addition, it reduces the risk of numerous foot and ankle injuries. But they are often half-height sports socks, so you cannot simply wear them during a competition or match. We explain how to do that here. You will also find an instructional video at the bottom of this blog.
Step 1: Put on your grip socks
This step is self-explanatory. You start by putting on your grip socks. It is important that you do not wear different socks over it. The anti-slip pads must be in contact with your shoes. We recommend that you do not wear other socks under the grip socks. Our PlayWear grip socks are designed to fit snugly to your foot. This way we guarantee the best grip, also in your grip sock.
Step 2: Cut the foot of your long football socks
This is what ensures that you can wear your grip socks in combination with long football socks. By cutting the foot of your long football socks, you are left with only the piece that covers your lower leg. Later, in step 4, you put these on over your shin guards.
Step 3: Place your shin guards under your grip socks
To keep your shin guards properly in place, it is best to tuck them about halfway under your grip socks. This way you don't have to spend an entire match fitting your shin protection properly.
Step 4: Put on your cut-off football socks over your shin guards
After this step you are (almost) ready to start the competition! It is best to wear the same color of grip socks as your long football socks. This way you get the least amount of conflict from the arbitration. You can always go for a Brazilian look by combining white grip socks with the color of your club socks.
