To become the best version of yourself, it is not enough to just train with your team. You have to train extra for that. We will help you on your way. Thanks to these tips and steps, you will make every solo training a success!
Make a plan
"If you fail to prepare, you are preparing to fail." Training without a plan, strategy or goal is holding yourself back. You prevent yourself from making maximum progress. Below is a step-by-step plan to plan the content of your training:
1. Before the training, write down a maximum of 3 things that you want to get better at. Make it as specific as possible. Instead of finishing, think of placed long shots, finishing on a cross in a timely manner, penalties, free kicks,...
2. Look up exercises online. You will find a lot of inspiration on our YouTube channel (here)! Other channels also have very good exercises. Type in what you want to work on. Write down the exercises or save them on your phone.
3. Give structure to your training. In our opinion, this is the ideal set-up for an individual training: -Warm-up (10 min)-Coordination, with or without ball (7-8 min)-exercises you want to work on (20-45 min)-Cooling down (5 min)
4. Analyze your training. Learn from your training. Why is it that certain things go smoothly, while other exercises are more difficult. Think about this to train even more efficiently
Seek challenge, but focus on progress
Do you notice that you do not get satisfaction from your training? And that you're not actually getting better? Good news: then your exercises are probably too easy for you! Make sure that you always prepare an easier and more difficult version of your exercise. This way, if you notice that it is too easy, you can make the exercise a little more difficult and challenge yourself. The same applies in reverse if your practice is too difficult and you often fail. This way you continue to get satisfaction and progress from your training.
Use your bad foot
Now is the time when it is only between yourself and the ball. So now is the time to make a wrong pass or check. You're not harming anyone with it, ON THE CONTRARY! By using your bad foot more, you will actually improve and be able to help your team win even more in matches.
Keep your agreements with yourself
Be disciplined and consistent with your workouts. You shouldn't train until you're exhausted every time. If you are having some trouble or just don't feel like it, try to spend fifteen minutes doing an exercise that works. This way you don't break your routine.
